Journals also known as periodicals or serials gives you access to the most current information (for this site we are going to use the term journal). You would not search a journal like you would search a book. A book has an index at the back of the book which helps you determine whether a particular keyword is found in the book and where that keyword can be found.
A journal on the other hand does not have an index to each issue. It is therefore, best to search databases or online journals itself to determine which title, volume and issue has the content that you are looking for.
