LibGuides assist users on research support, subject guides, and useful resources for assignment and research compiled by faculty librarians and can be accessible via the Library Webpage.
This section of the library is geared to the provision of high-demand material. Material may be in high-demand when many students need access to the same few items within a limited period of time. Short loans is used particularly when books are required for class assignments, prescribed reading, recommended reading.
Inter-branch loans provide for the borrowing of material between the different CPUT libraries on behalf of the students or staff without visiting that particular branch that has the desired material (s).
Material not available in the Library’s own collection may be obtained for clients from other Southern African or international institutions by way of national and international interlibrary loan schemes. A free national interlibrary loan service is provided to registered students and staff members of the University.
